ASB President 2025-2026
In order to run for ASB President for the 2025-2026 school year ALL of the following criteria must be met
- Recommendation from all 6 current teachers
- Attend ALL of the PTSA meetings (3) in the library on the first Friday of February, March and April at 8 am
- Plan a Friday lunch time activity (not just music)
- Plan a Future Vikings event on the weekend at La Jolla High
- Attend the Presidents’ meetings at the District in the evening in February, March and April (Olivia will give you the dates and times)
- Attend the ASB Olympics on February 18th at Patrick Henry
- Attend Winter Formal at the Birch Aquarium
- Attend the ASB Dance at University City High School on March 15th
- Meet with Ms.Brooks March 10, 11, 12, 13 during lunch
- Current GPA of 2.5
ASB Vice President 2025-2026
Requirements to run. Students MUST fulfill ALL requirements below before April 21st in order to run for ASB Vice President.
- Attend the PTSA meeting in the library on March 14th at 8 am. You must be on time.
- Attend the PTSA meeting in the library on April 11th at 8 am. You must be on time.
- Create a Friday lunchtime activity before April 21st. This includes set up and clean up. You may work with other students.
- Attend the ASB dance on March 15th from 6 pm to 9 pm at UC High.
- Attend the Circle of Friends Dance in the gym for at least one hour on Thursday, March 13th. Help clean up the Circle of Friends Dance.
- Attend the Seniors v Faculty basketball game and help clean up after the game.
Senior Class President 2025-2026
Requirements to run. Students MUST fulfill ALL requirements below before April 21st in order to run for Senior Class President.
- Attend the PTSA meeting in the library on March 14th at 8 am. You must be on time.
- Attend the PTSA meeting in the library on April 11th at 8 am. You must be on time.
- Create a Friday lunchtime activity before April 21st. This includes set up and clean up. You make work with other students.
- Attend the ASB dance on March 15th from 6 pm to 9 pm at UC High.

LJHS 2025 – 2026 Commissioners
Commissioners of Education Resources
- promote academic achievement
- Promote College and Career visits
- promotions to reward good attendance
- Plan Teacher Appreciation Week, Staff Appreciation Week, and Counselor Appreciation Week Find ways to motivate/support students during testing
Commissioners of Student and Community Relations
- Attend monthly PTSA meetings and report back to the ASB class
- Plan at least two community service projects for the ASB class a year
- Manage and help maintain a recycling program on campus
Commissioner of Special Events
- Initiate, plan, coordinate, promote Homecoming, ASB Ball, Powder Puff, Air Bands, Circle of Friends
- Work with fellow commissioners to publicize
- Fill out appropriate forms (Activity Requests) at least 1 month prior to event
- Contact DJs and venues and other vendors
- Set up committees to distribute the various tasks of planning dances among the ASB class
- Work with Executive Board Treasurer, Adviser, Activities Clerk and APSA to determine budget, ticket prices, and sales dates
Commissioners of Pep Rallies and Assemblies
- Be responsible for initiating, coordinating, promoting and planning all school assemblies and pep rallies
- Act as liaison and contact for groups and advisers involved in assemblies: cheer, band, clubs Plan a general schedule out for the entire year of Pep Rallies and Assemblies (with ASB President and Commissioners of Athletics and Academies) and give schedule to Adviser before school starts
- Fill out appropriate forms (Activity Requests) at least 1 month prior to event
- Keep track of items needed (balloons, streamers, poster paper, etc.) and organize the purchasing of new items when necessary
- Set up committees to distribute the various tasks of planning pep rallies and assemblies among the ASB class
Commissioners of Publicity and Communications
- Be responsible for the publicity of all ASB sponsored activities
- Aid all groups on campus in publicizing their events
- Come up with creative strategies to raise awareness of ASB events
- Be responsible for weekly updates to the bulletin and eblast
- Be responsible for all of the ASB social media accounts with Commissioners of Spirit (Instagram, Tik Tok, SnapChat, Facebook)
- Delegate poster making with publicity so the entire class works on promoting events
Commissioner of Athletics
- Serve as a liaison between the Athletic Department and the ASB class
- Maintain an updated list of scheduled sporting events for each season and publicize
- Inform Publicity of the results of the sporting events before Friday video announcements d. Assist in publicity of all athletic events
- Plan ASB class support games and keep track of ASB class attendance to those sporting events (involvement in one counts as one)
- Plan and execute Dig Pink and Tangle in the Tank
- Plan and supervise the coordination of Powder Puff
- Organize intramural sports activities during lunch
Commissioner of Audio/Visual Technicians
- Be responsible for all audio/visual equipment and technology
- Facilitate the setup and breakdown of all audio and visual equipment at all ASB sponsored events and activities
- Create/manage a music committee who can setup and operate the playing of music at lunch r Play music at all ASB school functions
- Gather music for assemblies and pep rallies
Commissioners of Spirit
- Assist Pep and Assemblies with assembly and pep rally setup and promotion
- Plan and organize a school spirit activity at least once a month
- Assist Athletics and Academy Commissioners
- Create and facilitate spirit games at all pep rallies and assemblies
- Promote Red and White and Black wear on Fridays, Spirit Weeks, and College Wednesdays
- Work with Commissioners of Publicity and Communications to publicize all spirited activities on campus and over social media
- Audition to find a mascot and organize a schedule of events for the mascot to attend
Commissioner of Student Activities
- Plan and supervise the coordination of Mrs. Brooks with the help of the ASB Senior Officers and the Dance Production Officers
- Organize and run the Halloween parade
- Manage an ASB photo share site
- create content for website, make end of the year ASB slide show, and a piece of memorabilia for the ASB class
Commission of Social Concerns
- Organize the holiday food drive
- Organize a clothing drive
- Plan and organize any charitable events
- work with community organizations to determine ways LJHS can positively impact the community
Commissioner of Student Store
- Order food, drinks, and merchandise for student store
- Take inventory of items in student store
- Decorate and organize inventory in store
- Create a calendar and schedule students to work store
- Create procedures for working student store
- Approve all merchandise ordered for student store
- Update inventory on our online store site Varsity Made
- Create price list for items in student store
Commissioner of Future Vikes
work with cluster principals to determine ways cluster schools and LJHS can collaborate
serve as the liaison between LJHS and the cluster middle school and elementary schools
promote appropriate LJHS events at cluster schools
